LM - Low Modulus Products

Our new series of LM (Low Modulus) products, with index in the range of 1.43 up to 1.415 was designed for Cascaded Cladding Modes Strippers. The LM product line complements our legacy higher modulus MY-145, MY-1455, MY-146, MY-1465, MY-147, and MY-148. The lower modulus of the LM products is advantageous in very high power Strippers since the lower modulus reduces stress in thermal cycling.

LED / O2 Inhibition Optimized

Our new series of –NI products are a new extension of the LM (Low Modulus) Product Line and the MY (medium to High Modulus) products line.The –NI products are distinguished by 2 additional properties:

(1) They are less sensitive to oxygen inhibition. This means the products can achieve good surface curing even when an inert atmosphere cannot be provided.

(2) They are optimized for good curing under LED UV spot curing systems, as well as the older, more established, mercury lamp spot curing systems.

The addition of these features enhances the ease of use of the –NI line.

Dual Cure Products

Our low index DC products are cured by either UV radiation, heat, or both. Dual cure products are used when the material is fully or partially shaded, and full UV curing is not possible.

Typical applications include recoating of combiners, recoating of

Light Strippers, encapsulation of fiber-optic connectors, etc.

Bio-Photonics Materials

Our most remarkable Bio-Photonic products are BIO-133 and BIO-134. These polymers have a Refractive Index of 1.33 and 1.34, which enables improved quality in microscopic imaging. BIO-133/4 were designed to minimize cytotoxic effects and fluorescence. The index of BIO-133/4 matches the refractive index of water and cells. This enables the production of 3-D structures, such as micro-pillars, or micro-plates, that do not distort the image and enable sharper optical point spread functions (PSF), resulting in higher resolution images.

A breakthrough in image quality was demonstrated when BIO-133 and BIO-134 were used for the construction of micro-plates and micro-pillars (in biomechanical research).

MY-133-MC Moisture Cured coating is used in SPR biosensors.

BIO-133/4, MY-133-V2000, and MY-134 are used in the construction of micro-fluidic bio-chips.

Recoating, Index 1.40-1.50 for Cascaded Stripper Re-coating

These materials are used mainly for recoating cascaded and simple cladding power strippers. The LM-14X Low Modulus products were designed for stripper recoating.

Our Re-coating products fit Recoater units and manual recoating. The low modulus means high flexibility, which enables better endurance under thermal cycling and thermal shock.
