“After the rain all hills are new，The sky is tinged with autumn hue.”On 13th October, 2023, Nanopolis Suzhou Co., Ltd(China) and GFH GmbH( Germany) held the "2023 Sino-German Femtosecond Laser Application Technology international Seminar". The 16th batch of new generation electronic information industry Science and Technology Mayor Group and FTI Laser Co., Ltd. co-organized, and successfully held in Nanopolis Suzhou, Suzhou Industrial Park.
“That friends should come to one from afar, is this not after all delightful? ” The seminar was full of guests. German guests arrived in Suzhou, China from Germany. Domestic guests enthusiastically registered and actively attended, including representatives of well-known Chinese and foreign enterprises and scientific research institutes such as SVG Optronics,Micro-tech, Shanghai SITRI Group, Changzhou Fangxing Precision, Kersen Technology, Peter’s Technology, Schott Glass, Soochow University, Fudan University and Suzhou Institute of Nano-Tech and Nano-Bionics (SINANO), CAS. The seminar far exceeded the scale of the conference, and came from major fields such as medical instrument, semiconductor, MEMS, microelectronics, textiles, microoptics, tool production, mould making, scientific research institutes and financial investment institutions in Shanghai, Changzhou, Wuxi and Suzhou.

The conference began with a speech by Ms. Zhang Shumei, chairman of Nanopolis Suzhou Co., Ltd, Nanopolis Suzhou focuses on the Third-generation semiconductor, micro-nano manufacturing, nano-functional materials and nano-health. Chairman Zhang wished the seminar to be held successfully today, and the participants exchanged ideas and shared more innovative technologies and experiences for the development of laser and industries.
Take stock and look ahead.Mr. Chen Changjun, secretary-general of the Yangtze River Delta G60 Laser Alliance and a professor from Suzhou University, delivered a wonderful speech from the perspective of industry experts. First of all, Professor Chen spoke eloquently and reviewed the history of the Laser Alliance for the guests present. He showed the guests the good business environment of Nanopolis.Taking Germany's TRUMPF Laser settled in Suzhou very early, and recently relocated its Chinese headquarter from Shanghai to Suzhou as an example, we further invite GFH to trust Nanopolis Suzhou's pragmatic cooperation and Suzhou's excellent business environment.He encouraged GFH companies to bring convenient service and value to customers, and take root and grow in Suzhou, become the leader of innovation and development, and the trusting partners.For example, it is hoped that FTI Laser Co., Ltd(members of the G60 laser alliance) and GFH GmbH will cooperate successfully in China and achieve excellent results and become a model of Sino-German cooperation.The Secretary-General promised that the Laser Alliance would wholeheartedly solve problems for enterprises, promote further deepening cooperation in the Sino-German laser industry, and win recognition from the laser industry and the government.
Let's flash back to history. Dr. Harald Kohn, a visiting professor at the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and a German laser expert who first visited to China in 1960, won the applause of the audience at the beginning. 1960 is destined to be included in the history of lasers. In the same year, scientists invented lasers for the first time. Dr. Harald opened with the first generation of Chinese leaders, reviewed the past Sino-German cooperation, and shared the brilliant achievements of Sino-German 2+2 Project CHINLAS and other projects in the past ten years, including his role as the German Chairman in the Sino-German CHINLAS project( 2004),in Berlin, and his participation in the construction of Shanghai Laser Laboratory in 2006. Subsequently, he introduced typical application cases of ultrafast laser technology in automotive fuel injectors, 2018 Nobel Prize chirped pulse amplification ultrafast laser technology, and ultrafast laser for implants such as joints and dentures. Looking ahead, he said femtosecond lasers are widely used and have huge market potential in applications such as medical devices, semiconductors, optoelectronic displays and aerospace components, which can bring considerable economic benefits to customers. We have reason to believe that the laser bond between China and Germany from 1960 to 2023 will continue a new chapter.
The theme sharing"Application scenarios of femtosecond laser technology in the Far East region"was completed by Mr. Qi Zuxie and Mr. Michael Prasser, GFH GmbH, with application scenarios graphics and videos to visualize the explanation, they analyzed the advantages and disadvantages between the femtosecond laser and other lasers, using German humor for the application scenarios interesting and detailed introduction, so that guests in a happy atmosphere to feel another charm of femtosecond laser technology innovation.
The theme of "Technical Characteristics and Advantages of Femtosecond Laser in the Field of Medical Device Microfabrication" came from the special guest Mr. Gu Jun, Deputy General Manager of Wangkai Medical, a subsidiary of Forqaly Medical.
